A taster of what I've got to offer
as well as a great opportunity
to practise and level up
your speaking on the go
For independent learners
happy to study on their own
but in need of speaking practice with feedback
For those looking not only
to improve their English but
also grow more independent
in their studies
For everyone else
Learning takes time, effort and commitment. (Especially at higher levels where it becomes more about fine details and progress is slower and less obvious - imagine a staircase with steps that get wider and wider the higher you climb.)
And so do human relationships.
Years of language studying and teaching have taught me that eight weeks is the minimum amount of time required
If you feel you've reached your learning goals and are happy to proceed on your own, brilliant! Our cooperation ends here, though I do hope we'll stay in touch.
If, on the other hand, you'd like to continue working with me, you simply buy another 8-week package.
The Self-Reflection books are PDF files that you get each 4th week instead of an online class. They have tasks that will allow you to revise the language you've learnt over the previous three weeks, a fun activity that will let you practise your English in a new, unusual way and some questions that will prompt you to think about your English learning journey as well as your work with me.
The Self-Reflection Workbooks in the Committed Package are for you to go through on your own.
Those in the Wholehearted English Package are the same but you will also get my feedback on the completed tasks.
I vary the tasks in the Self-Reflection Workbooks, so if you stay with me for more than 8 weeks, you'll be getting something different to do each time.
Research shows that successful language learning requires three things - exposure, study and usage (accompanied by feedback). Any two of them - say, exposure and usage - don't work in the long term, not for most learners anyway. So even if you're immersed in your target language, to gain mastery in it you also need to study it.
Absolutely not!
There's a significat element of coaching in my teaching.
What does it mean for you?
Be prepared to:
I teach using an approach known as 'flipped classroom'. In practical terms, it means that the precious classroom time is used for language practice with feedback, something you can't get anywhere else. If there's any reading/listening/grammar study to do, you're supposed to do it between classes.
The idea is that the class is the highlight of your weekly English routine, not a replacement for it. This approach removes the pressure to squeeze as much as possible in the very limited time we spend together.
